THE FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
The Berloni Foundation has numerous supporters who help promote public opinion in regard to the Foundation and provide funding opportunities to advance research on bone marrow transplantation.
Luciano Pavarotti in 1991, Lucio Dalla in 1992, Gianluca Vialli in 1993, Monica Vitti in 1995, Sergio Zavoli in 1996, Bud Spencer in 1998, José Carreras in 1999 and Valentino Rossi in 2000 were testimonials for the Berloni Foundation in the advertising campaign donated by Milan's Bozell Testa Pella Rossetti. The campaign appeared in the periodical and daily press that donated space for publication. Courtesy of Italy 's Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, a poster campaign was also launched for fundraising at Post Offices all over Italy .
In September 1999 José Carreras – accompanied by maestro Lorenzo Bavaj – gave a recital at Pesaro 's Teatro Rossini, his contribution to a campaign in support of research on blood diseases.
Also under its fundraising program, the Berloni Foundation launched an initiative involving holders of accounts with Italy's primary banks of that time, including Rolo Banca, Banca Popolare di Novara, Cariplo, Banco di Napoli, Banco di Sicilia, Cassa di Risparmio di Perugia, Cassa di Risparmio di Fermo, Banca Agricola Popolare di Ragusa, Sicilcassa. Account holders were mailed a letter attached to their bank statement, requesting their contribution to the Berloni Foundation.
Other banks including Banca delle Marche , Banca Popolare dell'Adriatico, Istituto San Paolo di Torino, Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze agreed to have brochures of the Berloni Foundation containing donation forms on display at their premises.
These actions produced outstanding results, thanks to collaboration with the banks and the generosity of Maestro Luciano Pavarotti and Friends, who donated the performance royalties on the CDs, audio and video cassettes from the 1995 Pavarotti & Friends event, first edition. |
